The Great Coat Sew-Along

For those that may be interested - Marji is organizing a Coat Sew-Along * for July * and I have joined. My sewing time has been at an all time low - non exsistent really - but if I join then I know I will participate. She has set up a group blog so we can all post as we go. She has started posting great information on this new Blog called "The Great Coat Sew-Along". I'm hoping to decide on my pattern this week end and then post my choice. ******************************************** ************** Sigrid posted a great link to the Burda site - Styles of Spring/Summer 66. I love this sleeveless dress/jacket!....... and the Jacket Sigrid posted on her site. . . Picture from the Burda site. The dresses are awesome, very stylish. Unfortunately the patterns are not for sale. Maybe ebay is an option? They also have Autumn 56/57 styles. There are some very nice patterns here too but my favorites are from the "66" Fashions.

Didn't see the 50's, and apparently the now so popular twist top have their history, as you can see on the 8th picture. They're lovey picture shows, my preference is for the 66 serie too.

Ann, thank you for the links. I am more of a 50's style girl, but the 60's are more wearable now and I do like several of the styles.

I too have joined the coat sew-a-long. I know what fabric I want to use, but now to decide on which coat pattern.

Uumm, Marji's Coat Sew Along sounds so appealing. I may have to reconsider.

Ann, I really like these patterns. Did you decide on your pattern for the great coat sewalong swap? I'm still looking for it. As to the Patrones pattern magazine, it is true that it is really expensive if you subscribe. The magazine itself costs 4 euros which is about 6 USD and they have about 6-8 releases. You should ask your Spanish friends to buy them for you and that wouldn't be that expensive I think. This is what I do, I buy on ebay or ask friends to buy it in Spain directly. I find it really diferent from Burda, more stylish. Well, you'll certainly have the opportunity to see one now that you know it exists :)). Whow, I was long...Hugs from Paris
