My newest Sewing Room Notion

My husband and daughter saw this shoe tape dispenser at our local Staples store- and they thought it would be just too perfect for my sewing room...... I love it!
I'm very"slowly" making progress on my Vogue 8259 jacket .
Pieces are all interfaced.......pad stitching done ....
and pockets ready to be hand sewn on.
I hope to get more done tomorrow. It will be nice to finish this jacket so I can start on summer clothes....like this one of many I want to make.....
from Patrones #278. There are so many beautiful patterns in this issue.
(Thank you so much Paco).
I'm happy to say that my Jalie patterns have been shipped. They were not supposed to be released till Mar 24th, but I got my shipping notice on the 19th :) For those not familiar with Jalie, when you order (from their site), 3 patterns you receive a fourth free. I ordered three new patterns and my fourth I chose the pants patterm # 2107 for my husband. I also ordered my stretch denim from Fabric.com for the jeans pattern #2908.
....and last but not least, a picture of my "boys" keeping me company in my sewing room! Bradley happy as can be sleeping very comfortably on Duncan.

Oh good, pics of progress on your jacket! I have been waiting. It looks great so far. I love what you are doing with the pockets.
Your boys look really cute there.

Thank you MaryPat. My progress is so slow, but at the end of Mar I should have much more time for sewing :)

Totally cute tape dispenser! How do you like Claire Shaeffer's couture patterns? I have a few, but haven't made them--yet. I have taken tailoring classes though, so am familiar with things like pad stitching.

I want that tape dispenser and the jacket when you are finished with it.

Love the tape dispenser! I am making the same Patrones dress once I get the fabric I ordered. It is red and has scribbled sort of flowers in black along with some squiggles in blue and yellow. This should be fun to see both versions.

Great pic of the boys. The puppies sleep in the most awkward looking positions, don't they. Skippy sleeps with his head hanging off of the edge of the couch - my neck hurts just watching him LOL.

Can't wait to see your jacket finished.

Oh, & I'll be passing through on Thursday. Going home for the weekend. My Aunt/Godmother's 100th birthday is this week, party on Saturday in Saint John.

Ann, I saw the Marcy skirt made on this blog:

imadethis-asewingblog.blogspot.com

It's made in a lime green stripe. She also has a lot of tips about making the skirt. It's gorgeous, as hs all her clothes.

The tape dispenser is just toooo much. What a fun and colourful touch. For the pattern, I am looking forward to see your future creations with those.

Patient woman with you jacket. It is going to be a piece of art, I am certain. The underlining looks perfect. How is spring in the Maritimes ?

Here it is cold today.

Warmest regards, Anne form Montreal (or Anne-Marie for my full name)

Ohh I which I could correct my comment. I mean YOUR jacket, not you. I keep doing this typo. :-(

The pockets will look great, beautiful placement. Like Gwen, I'm also curious how you like her couture patterns, how detailed is her construction info?

The two boys are precious :)) And that shoe... couldn't be more more perfect.

Here's to hoping we both get more done :)) It's quite chilly here in LA so I really need my coat...

If my daughters see that tape dispenser, I'll be forced to hunt up 3 of them (and won't even have one for myself LOL)! It's nice that your boys visit you in the sewing room.

I think that if we weren't online we'd be fighting for that tape dispenser, lol. It's so cute.

Bradley is adorable. :):):)

The jacket is looking very nice. Kudos.

Hi Ann, I don't know how I missed this post. I love the tape dispenser!. And your jacket is coming along well. I know how you feel about wanting to get it done. I'll be very glad to finish Swap. Yes there are some really nice spring fabrics this year. The flowered silk/cottons are especially to my liking.

Am always interested in new pattern companies...do you have the link for the Spanish Patrones patterns? Would love to peruse through their site! Love your jacket - it's so much fun at this stage, you can begin to see how it's going to look.
