Jacket - Vogue 8043 Details

  • I embroidered my own label for this Jacket. I included the pattern number. To sew the chain to the hem I used fishing line. It worked really well.

Bound Buttonholes.

  • I lightened the picture so you can see the welts on the bound buttonhole. I used black wool crepe for the welts.

Love the label and all the other touches. BTW, I've been to your area many times. So lovely. Both of my parents and grandparents grew up in nearby Houlton, Maine.

Ann, Fabulous work. I'm trying to work up the courage to try a jacket like that. Can you tell me what type of interfacing you used, and did you also interface the sleeves? Thanks.

Hello,
Yes I did interface the sleeves and I used a fusible interfacing that I purchased from my local fabric store by the meter, not sure of the name, however it is very similar if not ecactly like the "PerfectFuse Tailor" interfacing by Palmer/Pletsch. They sell it on their site, http://www.palmerpletsch.com/pfuse.htm
Hope this helps. Ann
