Sweetheart Top #1 * Jalie 2794

I have been wanting to make this top for as long as the pattern has been out (2007) and now that I have - I love it! It is such a pretty top.
There are so many wonderful reviews written up at Pattern Review on this top and I think I've had the same success as everyone else who has made it. For my first one I wanted to see how the fit would be without alterations to the pattern, so I didn't make any- (other than making full length sleeves). Many reviewed that the neckline was low. I figured that would be an issue for me too. I'm thrilled to say, that this is the "only" change I will make, is in the neckline, as I do find it somewhat low. I am very happy with the overall fit of this top, ( l will post a picture wearing it).
I plan on making another one as soon as I finish this post and I will raise the neckline.
The fabric I used is a knit I bought at Tissus Claudiany in Quebec. (Does it look familiar?)
I'm sure you have all seen the Sewing Article: "Best Patterns for 2008" by Diane Egelston at Pattern Review. It's a very interesting article.
Jalie
2794 was the # 1 Pattern!

Ann .- This model seems very popular ... the truth is that it is a classic and that is good for under a jacket. remember the post in which you presented this tissue. That chance is the same fabric used for the photo JALIE.

In short, it was great, enjoy yourself.

Best wishes, Paco

Yours turned out so well. And of course the perfect fabric!

This is beautiful! I love the neckline but can imagine it is on the low side. If it's too low, could you possibly wear a slightly higher neckline tank underneath?

Paco, it's true, this pattern is very popular :) For this time of year wearing it under a jacket would be perfect.
Vicki, when I saw this fabric, how could I pass it up,knowing it was good enough for the Jalie cover :)
Birgitte,I do still want to wear this one and that's what I thought, a camisole or tank should look fine.

I have been wanting to make up this pattern for a while now. Your lovely version has inspired me to move it up in the queue!

How nice to have the same fabric as on the Jalie cover! I'm wearing my black version right now under a grey cardigan with a necklace with large beads. This is such a great basic!

It looks great Ann. Love the fabric !
I've a collection of knit fabrics (& patterns to go with) and yet have been too afraid so far to try to sew them. Maybe it's time to give it a try.

Looks beautiful! Cool fabric, too. I think I'm going to have to buy that pattern.

Very cute. Thank you for the info about the neckline. I often hesitate on these sorts of patterns, never knowing whether I'll need to make or wear a matching camisole. Some can be altered and some can't. Jalie doesn't seem to be as bad of an offender in this regard as BWOF.

Thanks everyone :)
I started another one but had to stop to get the house ready for a showing! I hope to finish it tomorrow.
