The Pattern I used is from the Shadow Chenille Book - designed by Majorie Webb. It is very time consuming to create the fabric, however it is well worth the effort. The fabric does not come to life till you take it out of the dryer! The main fabric I used for this project is Osnaburg, a naturally colored 100% cotton fabric. The base fabric is muslin. For the appliques fabric I used 100 % cottons.
The Chenille process is: stitching lines that will cover the surface of your project, ( making a pattern), and carefully slashing between all rows of stitching, and through all layers, except thru the muslin base. Make sure you don't cut thru the Base.
